Introduction
Have you ever wondered about how the internet works?
The odds are that right now you are reading this page in an Internet browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, which came with your PC or Mac.
Whenever you read a page in your Internet browser, the browser knows the location of the page and then displays it in your browser.
The page that you are currently reading is saved in the remote server where the Omotic pages are being served.
If you look at the address bar near the top of the browser it will tell you the location or path of this file, which normally is http://www.omotic.com/semibase/cd01.html. The omotic sitename is followed by the word semibase which is the folder that contains the document that you are currently viewing ie. cd01.html.
Web pages like this can be located anywhere, ie. over a network, in your hard drive, and in the Internet. You view the web pages by typing the url of the address directly as shown above or simply clicking on the links on the web pages.
